For those who were able to join us at the Baptist Church on Thursday, it was great to see so many faces and we hope you found it a helpful session. As mentioned on the day and for those who couldn’t attend, we will be sharing the ‘case for change’ slides along with a summary of the Q&As from both sessions as soon as possible.

Here’s what’s been happening this week:

  • The Annual IT health check will be provided by Armadillo and has been scheduled for February.
  • The Platform for Data Project Board met the newly assigned TDS project manager, Nick Hemsby. The path to getting funds released to deliver phase 1 objectives will take us to March.
  • Network Consultancy Following moderation this week, we can confirm 4C as the successful bidder to support our network programme delivery. We expect to kick off their work in early February.
  • Prevent We met with ECC’s Community Safety Lead to talk about changes following an Independent Review to the Prevent Duty. This sparked an interesting conversation on how employees understand what they can and can’t use ECC property for (not just buildings but devices, networks, etc.).
  • Recruitment Phil and Vicki have been sifting CVs for the interim solutions architect and are preparing to begin interviews next week.
  • An interesting read on user-centred IT and some suggestions on how to get started.

And for the week coming:

  • Oracle We’ll be meeting with wider colleagues and Oracle next week to begin discussions about what we want from our support contract in the future.
  • Automation Centre of Excellence is on the agenda for discussion with key stakeholders next week. Supported by PwC, we expect to give more clarity, and get a clearer understanding of our approach to the ongoing support and development of RPA capability across ECC.
  • Objective setting TSLT have a session planned next week to finalise our objectives for the year.
  • TSLT meetings In the spirit of being open and transparent, future TSLT meeting agendas and papers will be accessible to all.
  • District Councils Ed will be meeting with the Chief Executives and directors at some of our district councils.

It’s also meant to get a little warmer, which is a real positive for some of us!

Hope you all have a great weekend 😊
