Cultures/Traditions Assignment

Hello students!

We will begin this new lesson by diving into cultures and traditions. We discussed culture and traditions in class after we did our read aloud. Now, how can we learn about different cultures and traditions? What cultures and traditions make up our class? How can you inform our class about your culture and tradition through pictures/drawings?

First, we want to know about the cultures and traditions that make up our classroom. We will get to know each other through this assignment. Think about your culture and the different traditions you have with your families. I have attached a video of students discusses their own cultures and traditions.

Now, you will design your own quilt that shows your culture and your traditions. Your quilt should have the important pieces that make up your family. Use a piece of construction paper with your choice of color. You can draw pictures, cut them out of magazines, or print your own pictures. We will share these and learn about the different cultures/traditions on Friday. After sharing, we will put our pieces together to make one giant class quilt.
