According to the annual culture forecast report from sparks & honey, three key macro-trends will drive the most change over the next 12 to 18 months, shaping the way consumers and institutions interact with one another, make decisions and engage with the world. The reports also details emerging trends (15 in total), cultural moments/examples that ladder up to each “big idea” and implications/key sectors impacted by each — from healthcare and tech to media, travel and beauty.

The three macro-trends (and examples of implications of those trends) are:

• Shadow World, a trend tracking the half-hidden side of existence. Based on what’s coming down the pike, brand leaders are advised to “EMBRACE PROCEDURAL TRANSPARENCY” and “LEAN INTO THE FAMILIAR AND COMFORTABLE.”
