LONDON, June 28, 2019 // Europe’s largest summit connecting the global learning community, EdTechXEurope, announced the winners of the 7th annual EdTechXGlobal All Star Awards on the 18th of June at The Brewery in London.

The recipients of the EdTechX All Stars Startup Awards are iHeed and CenturyTech. The winners of the EdTechXGlobal Scale-Up Category are FutureLearn and Touch Surgery. And, new for 2019, the EdTechX Impact Category honoured two winners, Interacpedia and Eneza Education.

EdTechXGlobal Startup Awards

This award category featured education companies who have shown the most significant innovation and growth over the last year. The EdTechXGlobal Startup finalists and winners are determined by our global panel of judges by considering a number of factors including: revenue growth, scale, innovation and market impact. Winners of this category include:

  • CENTURY Tech — Founded in 2015, award-winning artificial intelligence teaching and learning platform for schools, colleges and universities
  • iHeed — Based in Ireland, delivers online and blended University Postgraduate Qualifications to doctors and nurses in Europe, Middle East and Asia in partnership with the world’s leading Medical Universities.

EdTechXGlobal Scale-Up Awards

Included those education and training companies who have shown the most revenue growth momentum over the last 3 years. To be eligible for consideration in the EdTechXGlobal Scale-Up category, applicants must have revenue above €5m.. Winners of this category were:

  • FutureLearn — Owned by The Open University and The SEEK Group, FutureLearn is a UK-based leading social learning platform with the purpose to transform access to education on a global scale.
  • Touch Surgery — Based in the UK, a health-tech education company shaping the future of surgery through the convergence of surgical expertise and technology.

EdTechXGlobal Impact Awards

Include those education companies whose main focus is on demonstrable economic and/or societal impact or on prioritising ‘purpose over profit’. The EdTechXGlobal Impact category finalists and winners are determined by our global panel of judges by considering a number of factors including: improvement in life outcomes, positive economic and/or societal impact, growth, scale and innovation. The winners for this group were:

  • Eneza Education — Founded in 2012 in Kenya, a social enterprise that provides quality and affordable localized curriculum content to learners in Africa through widely accessible mobile technology.
  • Interacpedia — Based in the Colombia, reinventing the connection between Talent & Organisations, revolutionising the identification, development and attraction of talent, solving real challenges.

The six distinguished winners are also part of 60 finalists across the entire EdTechX Startup, Scale-Up and Impact Award Categories — honouring a selection of 20 in each category of the most inventive, fastest-growing startups.

The EdTechXGlobal All Stars Awards is determined by a global panel of judges, evaluating various factors including revenue growth, scale, innovation and market impact. For each category, the awards aim to showcase the top three start-ups across geography, segmentation and industry trends.

The six winners received prizes to enable the continued growth of their companies from the partners of the EdTechXGlobal All Stars awards, including Interactive Pro, online education facilitator helping higher education institutions and industry leaders enter the global online community; boutique technology-focused law firm Kemp Little; EdTechXHoldings, Nasdaq listed SPAC for the future of education and training and specialist investment and corporate advisory group IBIS Capital.

The awards took place during the annual EdTechXEurope summit, where 900+ thought leaders from 60+ countries joined more than 135 speakers to explore the ideas, innovations and technologies focused on the 2019 Spotlight, ‘Learning is the New Tech’.
