EdTechX Moves to a New Venue
The EdTechX team are excited to announce that next June 2020, we will be moving to a new venue — Tobacco Dock! With new session formats, co-located events and bespoke networking areas planned, we wanted to share a little more about the venue and what to expect for 2020.
Tobacco Dock was originally built in 1812 for precious cargo, including wine and tobacco, arriving from The New World. Over the years, it has held many identities, most recently known as London’s shortest-lived shopping centre before relaunching in 2012 as a destination venue space in London, hosting the biggest international brands. The relaunch was after the London 2012 Olympics, where it served as a barracks for military personnel providing security during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
At the heart of East London’s buzzing enterprise zone, in eye view of Central London, there is no better venue to showcase EdTechX 2020. Some of the best views of London can be seen from Tobacco Dock’s rooftop skylight bar, offering a 360° view with croquet lawns, ping pong and street food.
Alongside the captivating event space, Tobacco Dock also hosts a series of co-working spaces and meeting rooms. These will also be available to hire during EdTechX and London EdTech Week, allowing our attendees to arrange meetings, connect with other thought leaders and generate new revenue and opportunities at one time. EdTechX 2020 will host 4 summit tracks, meeting rooms, pop-up stages, co-located events and increased space for EdTechX Connect.
