Earlier this week, UCLA students and faculty were viciously attacked by people from outside of their academic community seeking to bring fear and disorder to a peaceful and civil gathering of scholars. Columbia University and the New School — both located in New York City — students were also attacked by outside agitators.

Politico — Eric Adams Escalates Rhetoric Against Columbia University Protestors

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is facing pressure from all sides to disclose the number of non-students among the 282 people arrested at Manhattan campus protests.

Initially, Adams, a former police officer with experience in supporting the Blue Wall of Silence, declined to provide a specific breakdown of the arrest numbers. Instead, Adams is using an analogy about professors manipulating students into participating in protests to avoid giving specifics.

He went on to state that the focus should be on addressing any inappropriate actions, whether by one or several individuals…and continued to deflect reporter and civilian questioning around the number of potential agitators who may have instigated…
