Linda Braun is an educational technology consultant and professor of practice for Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Linda presents workshops to librarians, teachers, and other educators on a variety of topics, primarily technology oriented topics, and has started using Learnist as the web-based resource that complements trainings she provide. Linda suggests, “Learnist works successfully for this purpose because of the way it’s possible to organize content in a step-by-step format.”

Linda appreciates the ease of organization Learnist allows. She mentions, “When I present a training session I think a lot about the order of the content and I like that Learnist can support that thought and order. For example, I recently worked with librarians in Vermont. The Learnist Board I created follows the organization of the workshop’s agenda and as a result allows participants to be organized in their learning taking what they learned in one agenda item and adding that learning to the next item, and so on. It becomes a scaffolded experience in that way.”

Another great feature Linda enjoys is the ability to mark a learning as complete. “It’s also useful to give learners/participants in training sessions the opportunity to check-off what they complete and review what they have already looked at and see where they are headed next. The organizational features of Learnist make this possible and thereby give learners/workshop participants to gauge progress and feel like they are accomplishing something.”
