Today we are happy to announce the introduction of the Education Umbrella eureka donation scheme.

With school budgets dwindling, finding the money for resources has become more of a worry for teachers and bursars alike. At Education Umbrella we always bring schools the best prices on their textbooks, library books, and digital resources such as TECvideos, TECbooks and audio lessons.

As part of our commitment to helping schools save money, we offer a fantastic loyalty scheme, eureka. For every pound a school spends with us they earn one eureka point, each worth one pence. As schools spend more they can earn a huge number of points, which in turn leads to huge savings throughout the year.

Recently we decided that the increasing number of parents and students who choose to buy learning resources with Education Umbrella ought to be able to donate their eureka points to a school of their choice. As of today, if you purchase on our site as a private customer you will be presented with a simple box to find a school to which you can then donate the points you’ve earned. You can post about your donation on social media to earn even more points.

Find any UK school and donate. It’s that simple

Since this change came into effect private customers have made points donations to schools totalling more than £100! One school has even gone as far as to suggest they place a link to Education Umbrella on their own school website. With coordination between schools and parent groups we believe a school could raise a huge portion of its budget just from joining eureka.

FAQs

Q: Will the school receive all my details when I donate?

A: No, all the information is private. We will tell the school how many points they have received from donations in total.

Q: Are schools informed of a points donation as soon as I make my purchase?

A: No, we inform schools three times a year, in September, January and May. This coincides with schools receiving their budgets and means they won’t receive hundreds of emails.

Thanks for reading! If you have any suggestions on ways we can improve our donation scheme please get in touch, on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, or on our website.
