What is Educere?

Educere is an independent publication for exchanging ideas on Singapore’s pre-tertiary education system, and education itself. We aim to hear the voices of students, educators, policymakers, and working professionals to understand the pros and cons of Singapore’s education system, in order to explore potential improvements and opportunities.

Why publish at Educere?

  • Strong opinions are commonplace in debates on education. Educere welcomes diverse and contrarian, but well-considered ideas, so we do not make publication decisions based on your opinion itself. See below for what we look for in submissions.
  • Articles featured in our publication receive higher exposure to educators, students, and the general public who read about education.
  • Join the discussion on the future of Singapore’s pre-tertiary education
  • You will remain the only owner of your work and will be able to edit or delete your story at any moment, even after published.

What Educere looks for

We are seeking articles in the following areas:

  • What problems do Singapore’s education system face and how might we solve them?
  • How might we take advantage of modern technology to improve Singapore’s education?
  • How might we make education more fair and accessible in Singapore?

Topics that fall outside these areas may still be considered. Please reach out at projecteducere@gmail.com to confirm whether your topic is suitable for publication. However, Educere has two strict requirements:

  1. It must relate to Singapore’s context. Ideas and evidence may be international in nature, but they must ultimately tie back to the local environment.
  2. At least one solution, suggestion, or equivalent must be included. Every education system has major flaws and they have been written to death. Writing about how problems can be solved is far more productive and fruitful. If you’re not sure whether your submission counts as a solution, get in touch with us! We’ll work with you on getting your article up and ready.

Submit My Article

Please read the section above carefully to understand Educere’s requirements. Once you have written your article, please fill in the form below:

We will review your submission within 2 business days. We will either (i) accept upfront, (ii) propose revisions before accepting, or (iii) reject the article.

After being accepted, your article will be published and publicized within another 2 business days.
