Hello, my friend! I’m thrilled to share the latest updates with you. Last weekend was remarkable not only for Wanida but also for our school. The atmosphere inside the school was electric with excitement as our students were ready to demonstrate their mastery of robotics under the direction of skilled computer teachers.

Meanwhile, our French exchange student embarked on new, fascinating adventures in Thailand. This time, she and her family traveled to the province of Pechabun, or more accurately, Khao Kho, where she enjoyed an incredible weekend with her family.

Are you ready? Let’s go through it all in order.

Robots

As the youngsters gathered in the assembly hall, excited chatter filled the air. Throughout the hall, the smell of fresh-baked buns and sandwiches permeated the atmosphere, mingling with the students’ faint sweat and the sharp scent of anticipation.

The teachers’ voices were the conductor of this orchestra, guiding it along with gentle assurance and firm commands. The pupils had gathered from far and wide to show off their engineering abilities. From plastic contraptions with spindly legs to metal creations, the robots were a sight to behold.

A teacher began, “Are you ready?”

“Yeah!” the students exclaimed with joy.

Soon, the robots lined up across the hall in anticipation of their challenge. Taking their places, the robots faced off against one another to compete in soccer. Cheers rang out across the hall as the students applauded the robots’ performances.

The pupils were encouraging each other, “Pai!Pai! (Go!Go!)” — their words echoed down the hall.

In a flurry of motion, the robots lined up again. With a second round of cheers, the robots charged forward. This time, they were a little more accurate and a little more sure of themselves, and soon enough, one of them was headed straight for the goal.

“Goa-a-a-a-l!” the winner raised his victorious arms quickly.

In an eruption of noise, the winner was declared, and a cheer erupted throughout the hall. Amidst the festivities, the teachers distributed more snacks to the cheering youngsters.

The students might have been exhausted from their efforts, but they certainly weren’t too tired to savor the sweet treats.

By the time the pupils had finally finished their celebratory snacks, the robots had been packed away and the hall was nearly silent. Soon, it was time to depart, and the students hugged their robots one last time before beginning their journey home.

Though their robots might never be put to use again, the pupils who had built them would never forget this magical day in the school. The enthusiasm and excitement that had filled the hall that day could not be forgotten, and the students carried the memories with them as they departed.

At the end of the competition, the pupils hugged each other and took some pictures for memories.

The Blue Sky of Khao Kho

Wanida could hardly contain her excitement as they drove along the winding mountain roads of Khao Kho. From the car window, she gazed out at the lush green hills, the towering mountains and the gleaming streams. Everything was ablaze with life and beauty, and she was captivated by the sheer grandeur of it all.

The car wound its way around the countryside, taking them through rice paddies, picturesque villages, and forests of bamboo. Wanida was mesmerized by the landscape; each bend in the path revealing an even more stunning vista than the last.

“Suay My? (Beautiful?)” her mother whispered.

“Wow!” Wanida smiled, avoiding useless words.

Everywhere she looked, there was something new to behold, and she felt like a little child discovering a whole new world. At last, their destination came into view: a remote village nestled amongst the hills and surrounded by lush greenery. As they pulled up to their guesthouse, Wanida felt relieved to have arrived safely after such a long journey.

The sleepy town of Chumsaeng had become too familiar to her, and she was eager for a change of scenery. Furthermore, Khao Kho was a world away from home, and its exotic sights and sounds entranced Wanida. Everything was so different from what she was used to, and she felt an exhilarating sense of adventure as they drove through the countryside.

When they arrived at the resort, Wanida was awestruck by the Thai garden that looked like a tropical piece of France…

The entrance was adorned with towering trees and colorful flowers, and a tranquil fountain flowed nearby. The resort was a sprawling complex of lush gardens, sparkling pools, and elegant buildings.

As they walked toward The Blue Sky Restaurant, Wanida couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder and excitement. The restaurant was a stunning sight to behold, with its immaculate English Country decor and luxurious furnishings. The walls were adorned with intricate floral patterns, and the electric chandeliers glittered like diamonds in the soft light.

Something that took Wanida’s breath away was the view from the restaurant’s terrace. The expansive deck overlooked the rolling hills and verdant valleys of Khao Kho, and the sight was simply breathtaking. It was The Blue Sky of Khao Kho.

Spread across the mountaintop was a peaceful pattern of buildings in a European style — a luxuriant oasis of relaxation. It was like something out of a dream, and Wanida found it hard to believe that such a place could exist in Thailand.

The family spent a few hours in the resort, taking long walks along the nature trails and admiring the picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. Afterward, they were ready to relax and enjoy a delicious meal together.

As they settled into their seats and perused the menu, Wanida couldn’t help but smile. This was a new beginning, a chance to experience the world in all its beauty and complexity. And she was determined to savor every moment of it.

The resort’s restaurant was a delight, and they feasted on desserts. The flavors that were presented were truly remarkable, with a sweetness that was both captivating and enticing.

“Aroi My? (Delicious?)” The little boy asked Wanida.

“Aroi! (Delicious!)” She answered in Thai.

The various tastes and aromas of vanilla and chocolate blended seamlessly together, creating a truly compelling culinary experience that left a lasting impression on everyone.

After having a meal, the family moved to the resort’s swimming pool. The French girl paddled around in the refreshing water, feeling like a mermaid in a secret underwater kingdom. She laughed and splashed around with her adorable little brother.

The sun was starting to set when they left the pool, so they took a stroll through the gardens before heading back to their room. Wanida admired the bright flowers and lush greenery as she made her way through the paths.

As the girl strolled through the gardens, she couldn't help but notice the sweet fragrance of the smell of pine needles that delicately permeated the air. Its soothing aroma blended seamlessly with the tranquil ambiance of the surroundings, creating a serene and calming atmosphere that was truly enchanting.

The next day, the family set out to explore some of the nearby attractions. They stopped at the Big Buddha, where they were welcomed by the local people.

The Big Buddha sat tall and proud, its white marble radiating in the sun. Wanida felt tiny in comparison to its grandeur. She looked up at the serene face of the Buddha, feeling a sense of calm wash over her as she took in the peaceful surroundings.

The locals had told her that the Big Buddha was a symbol of peace and harmony, and she could feel the positive energy emanating from it. As she walked around the statue, she noticed the intricate carvings and designs on the marble, each one telling its own story.

Wanida sat down at the base of the statue and closed her eyes, taking in the sounds of the birds chirping and the wind rustling through the trees, fluttering her hair. She felt at peace, like she had finally found a place where she belonged. The girl was fascinated by the size of the statue and the unbelievable landscape around it. A few moments later, the family visited Phasornkaew Temple.

Everywhere the French girl looked, there was something new to see — glimpses of exotic wildlife, waving fields of fragrant grasses, golden temples, orchids bursting into vivid color against a cobalt sky.

After a day of exploration and adventure, the family returned to the resort for a final dinner and night of relaxation. That evening, the family gathered around the table for dinner.

The French student was delighted to experience a traditional Thai-style meal with small bowls of Tom Yam Kung and other flavorful dishes. She enjoyed the spicy flavors and savory aromas that filled the room as they shared stories from their day’s adventures. In addition to the famous Tom Yam Kung, Wanida tried Khao Moo, a popular dish that I also enjoy.

Khao Moo is a delightful Thai dish featuring pork. It’s a flavorful and satisfying culinary creation that showcases the rich and diverse tastes of Thai cuisine. This dish typically consists of succulent pieces of pork, often thinly sliced or diced, that are marinated and then grilled or roasted to perfection. The pork is seasoned with a harmonious blend of Thai spices, which may include garlic, coriander, lemongrass, and chilies, lending it a delectable and aromatic profile.

At the end of the meal, the French student smiled as she looked around at her new family. She couldn’t believe how lucky she was to be part of this incredible journey.

Then, her little brother approached her and whispered, “Fun dee! (Sweet dreams!)” With these words, he hugged her unconfident — she felt an overwhelming sense of joy wash over her.

Wanida hugged him back with a smile, “Fun dee!” feeling a warmth spread through her heart. She promised herself that she would never forget this family, this moment, this place.

She knew that this was only the beginning of her journey, that there were countless more adventures to be had and experiences to be shared. But for now, she was content to bask in the glow of this newfound happiness.

Wanida felt a deep sense of peace and contentment as she watched the sun dip into the horizon, reflecting its warm light on the rippling surface of the pool.

She knew that this weekend was one she would never forget. The world is a book, a tapestry of human stories, and Khao Kho was just one of the most captivating chapters in her life. However, little did she know that even more intriguing adventures were yet to come…
