The University of California, Santa Cruz has a vast campus of 2000 acres, it lies 121 km south of San Francisco, in the Ben Lomond Mountain ridge of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and it happens to be surrounded by the Pacific Ocean.

Aside from the enormous college buildings, the campus has an exquisite ‘walk in the jungle’ feature, where students go to relax and destress, it’s a lovely place that each student must visit, a place where you can breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful scenery. On the campus grounds, there are over 40 km of hiking and jogging paths, as well as over 150 student clubs and organizations.

For fun, students can tour Dead Central, or explore the small beach town of Santa Cruz, located on Monterey Bay. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk offers rides and games, as well as swimming, sailing, and kayaking by the Oceanside. The university grounds contain a variety of natural attractions such as the “Porter Caves” which are a favorite hangout for students on the campus’ west side.
