Work Culture at Eduwaive Foundation
Have you ever heard about a work environment in which your employer lets you introspect yourself and then choose to work in a field you are good at? Welcome to Eduwaive Foundation- a non-profit organization that aims at improving social-good sectors like agriculture through the use of artificial intelligence and computer vision. So, how good life will be if we are able to do what we are actually good at by experimenting first in every domain and then finally deciding what we are interested in? No everyday cribbing, no complaints about work being a burden-when you actually start to enjoy your work. Imagine if employers understand this simple thing, how much productivity can increase.
I am a graduate from Arizona State University in Business Analytics. Settling in Chandigarh, I never thought I could ever get to experience a good work culture. One day I saw a Facebook advertisement of a workshop on Google Cloud Platform being held in Chandigarh. I was confused, surprised and somewhat happy inside that I would be able to get an exposure of this sort that too in my city. Had always heard analytics has no future in India-a mere wastage of lakhs of rupees spent on graduation. Then suddenly this advertisement made me see a gleaming future. I am a girl who always wanted to work but what could you expect in Chandigarh-poor work conditions, overtime-pressure, pressure and pressure toppling over your head and those deadly deadlines making nights sleepless. On the other hand, if you get to work on things you are interested in, you can actually innovate and build up in that field. I made up my mind to attend this workshop. This was a turning point in my life. I met such great brains there. I decided to attend all the workshops they conducted in the future. By and by I built up a very strong connect with the Eduwaive Foundation-its mission and environment. Now, being a part of it I see it grow every day.
The good part is you are able to earn even in the 1st year of your college. Just Imagine! No more CGPA criteria, no more mugging of theoretical knowledge to decide whether you are hired or not. Simply bots-yes my dear friends, Eduwaive is on its journey to make well-trained bots which can handle the process of hiring. Eduwaive believes in learning from experience. In its journey-it learns and makes its members learn about how we should work-technically as well as ethically. Being in the 1st year itself, we are able to have a hands-on on live projects under the guidance of our talented mentors for the technical aspect. Eduwaive aims at bridging the Industry — academia gap; colleges give just theoretical knowledge without hands-on sessions which are of no use and hence, industries are not able to find the talented youth for their various positions. So, if you have already worked on Business Analytical skills right from the 1st year of your college and know from experience how to work in an office environment, you are on the right path.
The lunch times are always fun-eating together, sharing your food- and always hobbling over the food in most demand. After that a half an hour walk outside the office in which we are able to interact with our co-workers, side by side churning the afternoon lunch or a board game session-UNO, Othello, chess and what not to get back fresh at work.
