EFFECT.AI Newsletter #9 (16 Sept. — 1 Oct.)

Effect.AI has been all over the globe competing in several different areas to show the world who Effect.AI is and how our products can shape the future of AI. Along with the global expansion efforts, they are also on-boarding several new requesters and partners to use, develop and expand Effect Force, the first platform from Effect.AI.

SUMMARY

  • Effect.AI wins a spot to represent the Netherlands in Las Vegas at CES 2019
  • Effect.AI wins 1 of 5 spots from the French Embassy to attend Erasmus-Descartes in Paris
  • Lobster.Media creates the first two algorithms from tasks preformed on Effect Force with a ~95% accuracy level
  • 480,000 new tasks coming to Effect Force from the Singapore government and our partners at Quadrant Protocol
  • Effect.AI feature aired on RTL, one of the largest Dutch TV networks
  • 5 Major requestors currently testing Effect Force
  • Chris wins MVM (Most Valuable Mentor) at a secret Hackathon in London

TECH

The development of the Effect Force is continuing steadily. Many requesters have approached us with a need for specific annotation features. This has resulted in several additions to the Effect Force application, including pixel annotation, map labeling, audio transcription and video annotation. Some of the functionality will be rolled out over the coming week and will result in more diverse tasks on the platform. Besides new annotation tools, our team has been constantly improving the interface, performance and ecosystem of the Force while we progress towards our next big release. We are also very proud to announce that Tony (DevOps) has joined our development team!

REQUESTER MILESTONE

Lobster.Media improves two AI models with Force training data

“We successfully improved our Selfie Detector and People Tracker with the training data from Effect Force! We are very happy with the collaboration with Effect.AI. Their project managers ask excellent clarifying questions which resulted in a superior project result. I look forward to continuing to work with them.”

Pinpointing businesses in Europe

Over the last few weeks the business development team have been all over Europe.

First it was DMEXCO in Cologne where Sam and Casper joined forces to speak with requesters about the importance of AI in sentiment analysis and content creation. Because of this, one of the largest media tracking companies in The Netherlands is now currently testing the Effect Force platform and looks to become a live requester very soon!

It was then on to the IBC in Amsterdam where we talked about all things video tagging and in the meanwhile, CEO Chris was at the World Blockchain Summit in London where he met with some of our closest friends in the space. Hear more on this in the coming weeks!

Later that week, Sam and Chris teamed up in Stockholm to attend IP EXPO Nordics where they had an incredible meeting with Microsoft!

Moving into this week and on Tuesday Effect.AI COO Piet, was invited to pitch at the AI centric matchmaking event where we won one of the five tickets for the Erasmus-Descartes Conference in Paris. The event will take place on the 15th and 16th of November and will allow Effect.AI to pitch itself to the French market and explore new partnership opportunities in France.

Also on Tuesday, Chris was at the Future of Trust Summit in The Hague participating in a number of exclusive roundtables giving his thoughts on the future of AI.

And last but not least, the Effect.ai team have just found out that they have won the chance to represent The Netherlands at CES 2019 — the biggest consumer electronics conference in the world!

Some great exhibitions with a lot of requesters to get live on Effect Force

EFFECT.AI Newsletter #8 (1 Sept. — 15 Sept.)

The business development team continue to on board of strategic partners and Requestors to use Effect Force. And Chris our CEO is globetrotting once again this month networking and creating awareness of the Effect.AI project.

BULLET POINTS

  • Private Beta feedback results is major upgrade in UI/UX
  • Several new blockchain integrations to Effect Force make sure workers get paid fast and Effectively.
  • Effect.AI enters to compete with 70+ companies to represent the Netherlands at CES Las Vegas
  • New websites in production: Effect Force, The Effect Network and EFX token/governance
  • Effect.AI joins several events in the month of September

TECH

There has been steady progress made by the Effect.AI development team. For a while they have been building new features and enhancements that will make the platform more versatile, usable and beautiful. Although most of this work is done silently in the shadows, waiting for the big reveal, here’s an exclusive sneak peak of what’s to come.

Gateway to the Force

It requires a lot of tasks to keep the workers on Effect Force occupied. A mission of the development team is to make the provisioning and management of tasks easy and accessible. For this reason we’re building an Requester API that allows requesters to interact with all features of the platform. Additionally, requesters can use the API to integrate their existing applications with Effect Force. In the coming months you can expect extensive documentation and integration examples.

A new look

The quality of feedback we received during the first stage of private beta has led to a brand new design of the worker interface. Many usability improvements will be added that make the application even more loveable than before. Release date TBA.

Blockchain improvements

As you probably know, there was some trouble on the NEO network last month. Luckily this made us add several improvements to our blockchain integration, that make the application more robust when we come out of private beta. The Effect Force is now able to process worker transactions at all times:

  • Transaction fees are added to prioritise them in blocks. The required GAS is provided by Effect.AI
  • Transactions are queued and relayed over time. This means your EFX will always arrive, even if a node goes down or transaction pools are full.

NEWS, MARKETING, EVENTS

Effect.AI competes with 70+ Dutch Projects

Effect.AI has entered the CES Unveiled Amsterdam. Nearly 80 companies from the Netherlands and surrounding region will display their cutting-edge technologies at the second annual CES Unveiled Amsterdam event. The event takes place September 27th. Only a few projects will be selected by the Dutch government to go to CES Las Vegas to represent the Netherlands. This would be an incredible opportunity for Effect.AI to enter the US market with a BANG! The projects that are selected will get the opportunity to showcase their innovative projects to all sorts of major US and international tech companies. CES Las Vegas often leads to major partnerships for the companies representing the Netherlands. We feel we have the perfect technology, team and project to be selected as one of the few to represent the Netherlands… We will know on September 27th… Crossing our fingers

New Websites

Our team is dividing the task of creating new content and designs for 3 new websites to attract various new people and enterprises to our project. The first release will be a new Effect Force website designed to attract high quality clients to use our platform to structure data for automation, AI/ML and basic labeling. The other 2 website will illustrate and explain the entire Effect.AI in detail. Within these sites you will find the definition of The Effect Network protocol, The Galaxy Pool, the new structure of the EFX Token economy, Governance model and much more.
