Effect Network Looks to the Future: Plans and Goals for the Year Ahead
Exploring Success for the Coming Year
As 2022 was coming to a close, we took stock of our progress and looked at what went well and what could be done better. Overall, it’s a project-wide self-check to make sure our development and aspirations are still in line with our mission.
Now that we’ve delivered on the main product, a truly decentralized microtasking platform, and established a DAO to govern the network, many may ask what’s in store for us next. This blog article will reveal the achievements we strive for this year.
2023 will be marked as the year of innovation and growth for the Effect Network. Now that we have a fully decentralized product, we will be able to add new features and expand the network’s capabilities.
Most people still don’t understand how important our smart contract stack and SDK are, so building awareness is an important part of the strategy this year. What we’ve built allows anyone to build dApps and use the blockchain without any knowledge of blockchain programming. This means that the Effect Network is the L1 of decentralized work. Stop and let that sink in for a moment. We have laid the foundation for decentralized payment processing, built an escrow system for building tasks, and can even provide ways for decentralized identity. It’s the fundamental base for decentralized work.
With that in mind, here’s a breakdown of what we hope to achieve over the next 12 months:
Enhancements to Effect Force
First and foremost, our top priority is to keep adding new features and making the user interface (UI) better. We’ll improve the tools for requesters and add quality features for workers so they can be more productive. This focus covers broad areas like validation, task escrow, identity, qualifications, and tools that make it easier to use EFX.
AI-related Services
We’ll stay true to our roots by building features and services that integrate tightly with the AI industry. The media is finally catching up with what we’ve known for a long time: the future will involve humans interacting with AI, and we’re the place that helps build upon that interaction and innovation.
Outreach Initiatives
Over the next twelve months, we’ll be working on outreach initiatives that we hope will attract more users to the Effect Network. A big part of this will be centered around supporting the DAO and having them take a larger lead in things like hosting events and speaking engagements.
Transparent Development
We’re also changing our strategy this year to encourage developers to join us in our efforts and to develop more in the open. We’ve moved open tickets to our GitHub, allowing everyone to track what’s happening and discover opportunities for joining in. This style of development will not only continue throughout the year, but will hopefully lead to more innovation and enhancements not yet thought of. It takes a village, right?
Collaborating with the EffectDAO
We as a team are really bullish about the expanded capabilities the EffectDAO recently gained. We’re committed to making the DAO a stronger force (pun intended) and helping it grow. Furthermore, we’ll keep working on that, and we’ll also work side-by-side more closely with the DAO Guardians to build improvements to the network with them.
On the Effect Network, numerous projects and features — both new and old — are actively being developed. They come in many forms, such as new user interfaces, protocol features, documentation, research and development, and more. While they are being developed concurrently, and with the realization that some of them have dependencies, maintaining an accurate roadmap at all times would be unfeasible. Instead of attempting to plot them all onto a roadmap, we will organize them under an active-project directory. This project overview will show how the network is progressing, which working groups are involved, a live status, and documentation.
As we enter the new year, the team at Effect Network looks ahead with a sense of determination and excitement. Our focus is on growing the network and achieving many milestones over the coming year. We believe that by expanding the reach of our platform and continuing to innovate, we can make a real difference in the world. With a passionate team and a clear vision for the future, we are confident that 2023 will be a success for Effect Network.
