We know change can be inconvenient. Change can also pave the way for a better future. That’s why, moving forward, the only way to complete tasks on Effect Network is to migrate over to the newly decentralized version. Why? Think of it as upgrading your phone. When you have access to a model with increased functionality, you move on to the newer model. It involves a little effort, but once you’ve synced your contacts, you realize you’d do it ten times over just for those extra features. Except in our case, those extra features are the benefits of working on a truly decentralized microtasking platform:

  • Your geographic location doesn’t prevent you from accessing tasks
  • Anyone can create tasks on the platform
  • Instantly paid in cryptocurrency
  • All transactions are transparent and immutable

Now, just to be clear, migrating from the web2 Effect Force worker account to your new web3 worker account is not mandatory. However, if you don’t migrate your account in a few months, you won’t be able to keep the qualifications you have already earned. No need to worry, because we’ll give you detailed and clear instructions on how to do so. You’ll get the information you need through our Migration Guide and even an FAQ page, as well as a dedicated support channel in our Discord server.

Force Alpha qualification: For members of the original workforce prior to the mainnet decentralized release of the Effect Network Platform
Force Alpha qualification: For members of the original workforce

After you’ve migrated, those hard-earned qualifications will be there on the new Effect Network platform, enabling you to avoid the hassle of re-qualifying so you can hit the ground running without losing valuable time. You’ll still be able to keep the existing EOS account that you used with your worker account, and you’ll also be able to use a BSC wallet if you wish to do so. The differences you’ll notice? Aside from keeping your existing earned qualifications, and the new feature of reserving and submitting tasks completely on the blockchain, you’ll receive a cool reward for migrating: an exclusive, legacy qualification! This way, everyone will know that you were here for the big move and were a member of the first generation of Effect Force!

So, when will this worker account migration happen? If you already have an account at worker.effect.network, you can begin the migration process now. New people who wish to use Effect Force for the first time will need to create a worker account directly on the new Effect Force at app.effect.network. How does this migration process happen? Here’s the process step by step:

  • Launch the app at Effect Network
  • Click ‘Join the Force’
  • Register by connecting your wallet (If you haven’t done so already)
  • Click on ‘Migrate your old qualifications’ in the yellow bar
  • Click on ‘Connect to old Force account’
  • Click on ‘Migrate’

This might be a bit much to take in all at once, which is why we went the extra mile and put together this (bad) haiku to sum up it all up:

Centralized is lame
Migration is fast and quick
You keep your qualis

Now that this migration tool has been created, you can expect to see qualifiers and tasks populate the new platform, signaling that the mainnet release is just around the corner. Aside from the marketing push around the mainnet release, you can expect the developer team at Effect Network to be busy fine-tuning the platform, adding in the extra features like our eagerly awaited notification system, as well as enhancements to the user interface.

All in all, here at Effect HQ, we feel we’re in the last few meters of the “mainnet release marathon” and are looking forward to celebrating the launch with all of you! Watch our announcements closely over the next few weeks and reach out in our Discord server if you need help with the migration.
