Pushing the Frontier to Hong Kong

Efficient Frontier is proud to announce that we are opening our Hong Kong office with our new team member, Justin Leung. Until recently, our primary focus was on Western markets, as we come from the traditional capital markets and wanted to play in more familiar waters. In the recent two quarters, however, we have begun to expand our efforts in proprietary trading in derivatives markets, thus naturally leading us to Asia. In this short span of time, we’ve rapidly scaled our team and are now trading over $1 billion every week.

We are incredibly happy to have Justin join our team to build out operations in Asia-Pacific. He comes with a rich background in financial services, startups, and crypto. Beginning his career in traditional financial services at Citibank, Justin later co-founded two startups before entering the crypto world in 2017. Since then, he has led business development and investor relations for OkEx, CoinSuper, and Huobi. As one of the earliest employees at OkEx and CoinSuper, he helped scale the two exchanges from what originally were smaller domestic exchanges into some of the largest international cryptocurrency exchange venues in the world. Having been at three major exchanges, Justin was ready for a change and jumped at the opportunity to work with us, a rapidly scaling algorithmic trading firm with a strong reputation for being transparent.

With Justin leading the charge, we are very excited to dive deep into the Asian cryptocurrency ecosystem and markets. Having already established relationships with several of the leading exchanges and projects in the region, we are looking to expand our partnerships and grow our network in Hong Kong, a major financial center and gateway to the Greater Asia region.
