For Screenshots

Use whatever screenshot utility you like to get the screenshot onto your clipboard (Windows users can use Snipping Tool. Mac users can use Cmd+Shift+4), you can paste directly from your clipboard using Ctrl+V

Note that this is not something you can do universally, it’s the developers who made the Medium editor that has made this possible, so thanks whoever you are!

For Online Images

When you use the medium ‘add an image’ feature, a file dialog pops up.

Did you know that you can paste in URLs into the File name field?

(I haven’t tested this on a Mac, can someone let me know if this works?)

Now you don’t need to download and save to your hard drive, then find that file again. Just right click the image from your browser and copy, paste the URL.

You’re welcome.
