How to receive EtherZero on your Eidoo wallet
This post wants to make it clearer our position related to the Ethereum fork and EtherZero.
EtherZero fork with Eidoo
Eidoo has been indicated to be an EtherZero wallet.
Since users are in full control of their private keys, anybody can export them and import them on another wallet to retrieve his EtherZero coins.
As a consequence, if you have ETH on Eidoo, EtherZero coins will be assigned to your address.
That said, however, Eidoo doesn’t support these coins natively as they are neither ERC20 nor ERC223 compliant: they are based instead on a forked blockchain created by “splitting” Ethereum in two different chains (similarly to what happened in the past with Ethereum and EthereumClassic).
Below you can read how you can redeem your EtherZero coins by using Eidoo.
How it works
By using Eidoo you won’t lose your EtherZero coins: if EtherZero is well received and there is a high demand from the users for Eidoo to support it, we will integrate it into Eidoo.
We have always paid close attention to any demand coming from our users and we intend to keep doing so.
So, now you have two options:
- Use Eidoo to receive EtherZero and wait until we decide to support EtherZero;
- If you don’t want to wait until we decide to support EtherZero coins, you can export your seed and use another software to redeem them right after the fork.
Importing private keys
Furthermore, we advise against importing the backup phrase or private keys of the Eidoo wallet into any other software as we cannot guarantee for the reliability/security of third party services: sharing the private keys of your Eidoo wallets could lead to losses/theft of your digital currencies and tokens.
