Eighty Forth was derived from a place where common everyday hard-working people live but seemingly are still overlooked in their humanity and their human effort that they put forth to be a part of this world and not a dark corner of it. There are people who don’t know how to be heard in the world so they reach a breaking point after breaking point in their own personal worlds and they go on tho repeat the cycle of being broken and in the corner.

There are certain communities that have prisons that aren’t a physical structure but they’re mental, socio-economical, and class-based prisons.

We want to give voice to the African-American and minority communities that have been written off and overlooked in their capabilities but most importantly we want to challenge the minds of within those communities to think differently about where they are and just how much they are capable of changing the world around them and the world in them. We’re here for the cause of releasing the captives free from their minds and getting them unstuck.

We only hope that we can do this with varying creative forms of writing that addresses the human condition. Our forms include creative fiction narrative, poetry, and non-fiction for our blog.
