This week’s session was held with one of the founders of the EIPlatform project, Yury Mertsalov. Yury is an experienced venture capital and private equity professional with a strong interest in esports. He has over 5 years investing experience in bitcoin and crypto-assets. Yury is also very interested in artificial intelligence technology, its development and implications.

Yury Mertsalov

Q: Yury, how intrinsic do you think Artificial Intelligence is to our lives?

A: It seems to me that AI is not present at the moment in our life in the sense which we are talking about. Many giants of the IT industry have not yet come to an understanding of what should be considered artificial intelligence.

However, the vector of technology development is striving for AI to become an integral part of our life, although it is in a very early stage of development. And the closest thing to the correct understanding of AI, in my opinion, is illustrated by the writers of science fiction, whilst we are striving to realize the idea that they have generated.

Q: Yury, how do you think, do people understand the significance of the revolution now taking place in biotechnology and information technology?

A: Five years ago, artificial intelligence seemed like something from the field of science fiction. China will do everything to be in the forefront of the AI revolution. Over the past year, Europeans and Americans have come to realize this themselves. And now a full-scale “space race” in artificial intelligence is approaching.

Q: What role will Artificial Intelligence play in everyday life in 5, 10, 15 years?

A: Even today, AI is actively used in the study of the human genome, for the treatment of complex diseases. Such elements of AI as machine learning algorithms are also involved in many search engines, as well as unmanned vehicles of well-known IT corporations.

In my opinion, in the next 5 years, I would expect that AI will be involved in the management of transport systems, in 10 years, the AI training potential will increase exponentially and will be able to show worthy results in the field of medicine and economic forecasts. It is difficult to accurately predict something in the future 15 years ahead, but I would like to think that in this time interval AI will allow a person to live in a fully interactive space.

Q: What can Artificial Intelligence and, in particular, your development offer to cybersport?

A: We are working to create a product that will be able to guess the needs of each participant in the esports market. One of the main problems of this market is information uncertainty, which our product will eliminate. We apply our many years of experience in e-sports and the development of such technologies in order to allow all the functionaries of this industry to develop at an astronomical pace.

Our team and our partners are inspired by the idea that we can give this market an opportunity to become a leader on the world stage. Our development will be the foundation not only for the market, but for the game developers themselves, as some of its elements can be organically used, for example, in order to bring the NPC to a new level of interaction with the player.

Q: Can artificial intelligence completely replace humans in marketing issues for the esports sector?

A: AI will not replace people in the cybersport industry. Since the issue of making a final decision will always remain with the people. The choice and responsibility for it must remain with the people. It would be unethical to shift responsibility for decisions to a subject that does not have feelings and moral principles. I believe that AI can and should be an instrument that can repeatedly increase efficiency in any field of activity, but cannot be a panacea.

Q: How is the EIP Artificial Intelligence going to learn?

A: I answered this question above. But nevertheless I want to add that the algorithm will be updated all the time, as the world does not stand still, but the external environment is constantly changing.

In general, AI training will evolve in close connection with the amount of information at its disposal and user feedback platform that will be differentiated into different categories. AI will rely on the relevance of information and the degree of user satisfaction with its solutions.

Q: Are there any Blockchain components involved in EIPlatform?

A: Haha , interesting question — our platform is based on the blockchain technology. So it is fully built from blockchain. 😊

Q: Is there a common set of values of the Esports Interactive Platform, which are there in order to meet the needs of the majority of the cybersport audience?

A: Yes, of course, we have a number of common values, such as: Maximum network effect, that means a generous affiliate program for investors and players and profit distribution, which causes investors and players to stay at the EIP ecosystem. Full transparency that mean anyone can check all the transactions. And focus on convenience — simplicity of games and design and absence of pop-up banners and annoying elements.

Q: I can’t see a clearly defined softcap for the project. The team said they will work with which ever funds are raised. But I believe a project should have a well defined softcap, which if not met the project will not go ahead.

A: The project will be implemented regardless to the ICO results. We are going to give you an opportunity to take part, so we will do it anyway!

Q: What can EIPlatform offer to brands that operate in the e-sports world?

A: EIP blockchain technology will offer many more monetization and functionality opportunities to all brands, teams, players, content creators, fans and viewers. Sponsors and partners will gain access to advanced data analysis to measure the effectiveness of their investments and identify new opportunities.

Esports fans and viewers will benefit from exclusive offers, goods and services from partner companies. EIPlatform will simplify market entry for non-endemic partners by providing demographic and behavioral data to allow them to reach their ideal target audience.

Q: If my understanding is correct, EIPlatform’s blockchain will rely entirely on AI. That’s begs the question — What features of the Artificial Intelligence will be available to gamers, streamers and those who are just keen on e-sports? (The community I am a part of consists of all those things, so it is not just simple curiosity.)

A: It may sounds weird, but AI will give them an opportunity to know more about themselves. The main idea is to give the opportunity for users to satisfy their consumer needs. Our platform will give a profit to every user for the information that he shares with platform. The AI will aggregate and structure all the info. When the information will be added to the database, it will make a search and provide the most beneficial and useful offer for each user at the moment.

Q: As it now looks like esports won’t be in the Olympics because they are considered too violent, do you think this will affect the future of esports?

A: Thank you for your question, this is a current issue. But nevertheless, this issue does not affect the development of e-sports in the world. Popularity is growing at a huge pace despite the involvement in the Olympic Games. Olympic Games will win more than eSports if they include it in the Olympic Games.

From the leadership of the Olympic Committee we got badges with the symbol of the Olympics 80 with very nice symbol — Misha the bear

Q: Recently there has been a tendency to copy the same ideas in the world of creating e-sports disciplines (for example, the regime of the royal battle). In your opinion — is the lack of ideas from the developers or something else?

A: I think this is just part of video games fashion.

Q: Finally, is it worth developing e-sports on a par with traditional sports in the framework of state programs?

A: I think it would be fantastic, but i don’t think that it can be possible in the near future.

Thank you, Yury, for the detailed and fascinating Q&A session. These sessions are very useful for potential investors and users to gain direct answers to their questions about the EIP project and also to “meet” the team behind its development.
