Portal Nodes and early Portal rewards program
Portal Nodes are the physical devices that will be shipped to Portal NFT holders. This project has been impacted by external global conditions, mainly due to the hardware components that go into producing each Portal Node.
Because of this, we are going to make early rewards available to our Portal NFT holders before we ship the nodes themselves in Q2 2023. The target date for this program to be ready is by the end of 2022, but be on the lookout for updates as we near the time.
To clarify on the delays in the Node assembly, there is still a global chip shortage which is impacting the availability of Raspberry Pi’s that we’re able to source. Raspberry Pi’s are the foundation upon which Portal Nodes are designed for, and they are still backlogged with their fulfillment.
Because of the global delays, we are also looking into other solutions that match Pi’s build quality and reliability. There are no alternative solutions yet, so we are pushing back the shipping date for Portal Nodes to Q2 ’23, which does appear reasonable at this point based on the information we have.
