“Life Finds a Way”
The cold concrete is drying while the whole world is dying
The bulldozers are humming while the animals are running
The forests are burning while new bacteria are forming
The ice caps are melting while steel is smelting
The world is not dying, but our watches are lying
We’re only killing our time here and that fills us with great fear
While the human race is hating Mother Nature is waiting
Her child is being abused and she is not amused
Through every crack and imperfection, she stands with insurrection
She waits for her day through every weekend and rainy day
We yearn for vacation and she laughs with exhilaration
As civilization decays she only says hooray
And when our time is up she will stand up
She’ll embrace her child at last while we breathe our last gasp
And when we return to dust the wind will just gust
