Chih-Nan Temple is a hot spot in Wen-shan district of Taipei City. It also been called Immortal Grandfather Temple, which came from the god who is worshipped for it: Lu Dongbin.

Nowadays, most people go there by gondola. They just need to walk in the station, ride on the gondola, wait for about 15 minutes, and they will get to the temple. As a result, only a few people know that there is another way to get there: the Chih-Nan hiking trail.

Thought some people know about this hiking trail, they would like to choose gondola.

Why?

Compared the trail with the gondola, the trail is too long and too steep for people to climb with their families. Gradually, it faded away from people’s memories. Most importantly, it is hard to find.

The entrance of Chih-Nan hiking trail is hiding in residential district and surround by many mansions. If you have not done any research previously, you would miss it.

This forgotten place has rarely been visited by tourists, so it is so quiet that even cat could sleep in the sculpture. He slept very well, and even though I walked towards to him, he was still deeply asleep.

Although there were no tourists, the trail is still well maintained very will, and there are not many leaves on the road.

On the way, there are also many small pavilions can let take a rest. However, it is not too far away from the residential district.

Walking to the halfway of the trail, there was a sightseeing farm. Many years ago, tourists came here to buy some crops, but now no one will come to here, and the owner also disappeared.

Here is pavilion which was washed by landslide. There used to be able to take a rest in it, but I don’t know when it has become like this, and no one who willing to ask any questions about it.

Similarly, there was a lively village on the halfway of the road, but now it has became a barren place. There are still people living here, but the tourists are no longer passing through here. The rest things in this village were faded advertisements and empty stores.

Finally, I climbed to the end of this trail, the backside of this mountain, which is the sub temple of Chih-Nan Temple. It was the same situation,. There was no incense in the old and small temple.

No one was here, but me.

I have been to the main part of Chih-Nan Temple, but who would like to be annoyed by crowds?

Therefore, I chose to be the only person who stood at the green scene.

Thought it was a solitude trail, but we can sleep well in here.

It is good, isn’t it?
