Hello, Electrify Tribe!

Over here at Electrify we care very passionately about democratizing the energy space and empowering consumers and producers of electricity to get a fairer deal in their energy production and consumption.

We’re electricity geeks; engineers; power nerds.

Don’t just take our word for it, here is OmiseGo CEO Jun Hasegawa, an advisor to Electrify:

We don’t lend ourselves too much to self promotion or big (and meaningless) hype. We hope to work hard and let our product do the talking for us. The partnerships and mentors we already have, we hope, show our genuine seriousness and commitment, far more than any contrived PR stunt ever could.

However, we hold our tribe very dearly and we hear your frustration with a lack of visibility of what our team of Electro-boffins are up to.

So, with that in mind, we are making a commitment today to publish frequent short status updates that peek behind the curtain to show you what the team is working on in between our major announcements and milestones.

This object is not to stoke senseless hype, but instead to show that the team is all pulling in the right direction to deliver on our promises.

Let’s kick things off with a look at what we’ve been up to recently:

AMA with Jun Hasegawa

The team had the great privilege to join our proud mentor Jun for an exclusive AMA session at the OmiseGo HQ in Bangkok, Thailand.

We continue to work very closely with the OmiseGo team for help and support on the Electrify project, and want to give a huge thank you to all the hard work they and their development team are doing!

Jun and the team happily donated a bunch of awesome OmiseGo swag items to the Electrify community.

We will hold an exciting competition this month for lucky members of the tribe to win these incredible “money-cant-buy” prizes. Stay tuned to the Official Telegram group for more on this soon.

Joining the Ethereum Community Fund

Late last month, the team was honored and humbled to join the Ethereum Community Fund, alongside Quantstamp, another promising project.

The Ethereum Community Fund is an incredible project dedicated to helping grow and support the development of mainstream adoption of blockchain, crypto-assets, and decentralized applications, through the development of infrastructure and compelling end-user applications.

Their support and backing of our project is truly heartening for all of our team, who deeply believe in what we are working on.

EdCon

Julius and the team traveled to Edcon in Toronto, Canada, to take part in what is one of the largest Ethereum Developer conferences of the year.

If you look closely, the sharper sighted among you might spot the Electrify Asia logo there on the banner proudly among other members of the ECF.

At the show, the team connected with other ECF members, and the broader Ethereum community to work together to help drive projects forward. We’re energized at discussions we had at EdCon and look forward to building on them further in the coming months. Stay tuned!

Meeting at the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office

As you know, the team is proud to be Singaporean and working out of this plucky little island nation with the dedication and dynamism that made it the place it is today.

It’s no coincidence that Singapore finds itself among the top destinations in the world for blockchain enthusiasts. The city state is positively humming with excitement about the blockchain revolution, and this pragmatic and innovation driven spirit extends all the way through to the highest levels of government.

Our COO, Martin “The Martinator” Lim, was invited alongside notable leaders in the space such as Prof. David Lee Kuo-Chuen, to present at the Prime Minister’s Office, where he explained the concept and vision we hope to achieve, both in Singapore and overseas.

Continued progress in Japan

The team also spent significant time in Japan during April, where we have been working hard to close deals and partnerships to make progress in this important market.

While in Tokyo, Martin met with journalists from Bloomberg to discuss energy markets in Japan and how the Electrify Asia project fits in domestically in Japan and in other international markets, too.

We are incredibly excited about the hard work and progress made so far and we look forward to more of the same this month.

For May, we’re knuckling down on a few undisclosed items and we hope to have concrete news and announcements to make in the near future. Stay patient!

Until then, we will continue to keep our heads down with our hard work and let the progress of this project doing all the talking!

As Frank Ocean famously said:
“Work hard in silence, let your success be your noise”
