Why we do what we do
At Electrify, it is our mission is to make energy markets fully accessible and transparent to consumers and producers. We do this by empowering the public with the necessary tools to decentralise energy production. These tools will help remove price distortion arising from centralised production and distribution of energy.
Prices in many centralised electricity markets are often set artificially high with even higher barriers to entry. These circumstances are economically unsustainable and consumers bear the brunt of the burden; eventually small producers and their investors also suffer. We seek to solve these problems that are most prevalent in developing energy markets.
Centralised electricity markets are also often short on new and renewable sources of energy. Distributed low-carbon energy sources enable us to be environmentally sustainable and more self-reliant. However, the conventional set-up in today’s power markets poses many challenges to trading for small-scale producers. Trading and settlement facilities of these energies are seldom accessible to the masses. Through blockchain technology and a sound understanding of power markets, our solution will bring cost benefits to the mass consumer and decentralised energy producers.
While the level of regulation differs across countries, our solutions can be applied to help small energy producers engage consumers as effectively as large utilities. Consumers will also be enriched with choice in where they get their power from and pay prices that are sustainable to the ecosystem at large.
Behind these solutions is our deep understanding of how power grids operate, along with generation technology and regulatory frameworks. This allows us to contextualise and adapt solutions even to challenging regulatory environments.
From our founding, we have sought to democratise and bring transparency to consumers through education and an improved flow of information, thereby levelling the playing field for both large and small stakeholders. In Electrify’s next phase of development, we hope to extend these benefits to a wider audience, thereby bringing cost savings to consumers and better returns to small distributed producers.
