Bryce Ross-Johnson, aka, Bryce Vine was born in New York City on June 16, 1988. He is a new and upcoming rapper and singer making his big debuts in recent years. Bryce started his journey at 13 years old, but truly got into the industry in 2011.

Vine signed with Kiva House Lambroza record where he released his first album, Lazy Fair. a few years later he released his second album, Night Circus. His newest album release in 2019, Carnival, is Vine’s first full-length album.

In November 2017, Vine released a single, “Drew Barrymore”, and it quickly went global and has recently gone Platinum. He independently released this single due to almost giving up on getting signed (before he signed with Kiva). After his release, multiple labels approached him in hopes of signing, where he eventually signed with Kiva House Lambroza.

In relation to his single “Drew Barrymore”, Vine states, “I wanted to make a song about somebody that wasn’t talking about their looks. Somebody that you’re in love with but not focused on their physical appearance — — which was really hard to do, actually.”

Throughout his stardom, he has strayed away from those who wanted him to become the cliche rapper/singer character. In an interview he states, “They wanted me to fit a character that I wasn’t, [who’s] a dick to everybody…I wanted to be a musician.”

Lazy Fair features the track “Sour Patch Kids” which gained attention quickly and gave Vine the confidence to keep pursuing his singing career. After a while of dealing with the industry and business, he learned to produce on his own, but has kept working with his record label. Commenting on the work of his music as a whole, Vine states that, “I don’t write songs trying to make them a hit, i just write songs trying to make them good.”

Bryce Vine currently tours across America and performs at festivals, such as Coachella. Recently, he came to CMU for the spring concert on March 30, 2019 that also included 30H!3. Vine participated in a meet and greet after the show to see his fans.

Vine is currently working on new music and has a new album coming out this year, Carnival. He plans to do a 2019 tour during the summer into September.
