From my experience… Good leadership is modeling.

You set the standard. You subject yourself to best practices, and you work daily to make them your lifestyle.

Followers should look at you and see that best practices are doable and measure their lives based on what you do.

Followers expect that although they aren’t measuring up — although they can’t do it— you, the leader, should (and, sometimes, MUST) do the best practices.

Consciously or unconsciously, anyone following you wants to see leadership. They want to be led. They want an eye to correct them; they want to be put in check.

And… what God has created and called you to do, He gives you grace for.
