A Lesson from Drafting A Tweet Using “Enough with”
Some solutions you seek are found in rare places. Go for those rare places. Don’t quit yet!
There are times you’ll need vocabulary.com or lexico.com or thefreedictionary.com to help you. And they help you. Some other times, you’ll need them to help you, but they won’t because they can’t.
About that, today, I was drafting a tweet and used “enough with.” But when I read the draft to my hearing before tweeting, I became uncomfortable with that phrase that I looked it up online to see how proper using it is.
I couldn’t find any explanation until I tried an option I hardly consider for such things: News — Google’s search filter that gives you only news results around any word or phrase of your interest. And great, News helped! Using “enough with” was correct as I saw contemporary people using it in headlines of their stories. So, with comfort, I tweeted my draft. Hallelujah.
