We’re pleased to announce that James Ward has joined Elektra Labs.

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to unfold, more clinical trials than ever have been shifting to decentralized protocols by adopting digital clinical measures in their trials. During his first few days with the team, James jumped in feet first, building a better flow for makers of connected technologies to display information about the trustworthiness of their products to measure health at home.

James is joining our engineering team at Elektra. James joins us after wrapping up a self-directed community driven retreat at The Recurse Center. James co-founded Forkbombus Labs, providing threat deception, intelligence, and migration services, and he formerly served as a senior engineering manager at Venmo and Wayfair. James has a rare combination of security, engineering, entrepreneurial background — and has previously served in the biotech industry. At Elektra, we’re excited to grow with his direction and build more products for the rapidly shifting home health tech community.

James is a maintainer of TypeORM and regularly contributes to a number of Free and Open Source Software projects. Outside of engineering, he’s hoping to bring trash movie night to Elektra Labs — to watch terrible C-tier movies from the 80s and 90s while throwing popcorn at the screen together. Also, James is an avid Dungeons and Dragons player — with his most recent player character being a Barbarian Gnome raised by Dire Squirrels.

Please join me in welcoming James to our team! ⚡️
