Trip from Bohemian to Abstract Design Style: through the Bathroom! In VR!
Welcome to the VR project our team — two wonderful designers: Yiting Liu, Sarah Liriano, and I developed over the Spring of 2021 for the Artuminate Design Competition.

Design Brief
“The bohemian design style is a 2021 design and writing competition organized by Artuminate. Artuminate is looking for a conceptual design and write-up submission on the bohemian and abstract design styles.
· Create a Mood Board that explains your take on the bohemian / abstract design style.
· A write-up / basic understanding of the bohemian / abstract design style with an interesting title.
· A conceptual design development based on the write-up and the mood board.”
Our Concept
We believe that each style represents a different reality, and VR is the best medium to transfer from one to another. We chose the bathroom as one of the most intimate spaces where you can be as close to your true self as the sun-heated, free, and raw Bohemian, or as playful and recklessly artistic as the Abstract. Your challenge is to find out how to transfer to another reality, and the way to do it is ironically not something you would expect and something you would hardly forget.
