OVERVIEW

Primus Orders is a multi user mobile application that aims at improving order management capabilities of a business. It streamlines order processing by eliminating manual bottlenecks, preventing errors and establishing a smooth flow from sales quote to order fulfillment thus ensuring timely invoicing and payment.

BACKSTORY

The project had come to its initial discussion during Dec 2015 when the company was facing issues in managing the orders coming up through different channels. The owner of the company Mr. Tushar Maheshwari had a plan of setting up a centralized, easy to use system where his team could manage orders efficiently without any dependency on third party channels, thus improving the overall logistics of the company.

PROBLEM/CHALLENGE

The requirement of the Project was to set up a multi user android application with the following features:

  • Easy to use UI.
  • Customer Management with search functionality.
  • Products Management with proper categorization and provision for providing discounts.
  • Order Management and Tracking via mails and SMS.
  • Daily Reporting

As the primary use of the system was for their sales representative and inventory managers who generally lack technical skills, their focus was to build an easy to use UI with the features that could easily be explained and learned. Because of these reasons they were looking for a company with a solid team of UI/UX and Mobile App developers, along with the experience of managing multi user systems and applications.

OUR SOLUTION

Based on the requirements of the client, we have developed an Android Application covering all the features and functionalities. Mr. Sumit Singhal (LinkedIn Profile) also worked together with us during the development.

Following are the technical details:

Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, Native Android Application, PHP + MySQL, Slim micro framework, Doctrine ORM

As the UI of the system is an Android Application, we have used Slim Micro framework in the back-end to keep the back-end as minimal as possible thus focusing only on the Web Service APIs required for the app. We have also created multiple user levels based on the their access to different information within the system.

OUTCOME

The final product is an up and running Android Mobile Application.

Currently, the system is handling more than 1000 orders per month with multiple active users.

The system is also maintained by our team and new features are getting implemented regularly based on the client’s requirement.
