Life? Less Is Always More
And this is why we need to be selective about how we want to spend our scarce energy and time
Where should we start? A month back I attended a wedding of my university friend, and I met some people I hadn’t talked to in two years. Some of them got curious about my status as they could no longer see my presence on social media — they wondered how I could survive and how I live without knowing what is happening in everyone’s latest Insta story.
I used to be the most active one who posted a lot of content, especially when I went on solo travel in Europe back in 2019. Yet, in 2020, I vanished from social media with all the curated photos and content.
Ever since then, I did feel relief. Not knowing what others are up to or the latest post on the platform helps me eliminate the noise and focus on what matters. It is my career, drawing, and writing — these are the things that I’d like to spend my attention on.
My current sprint is about decluttering. I am a big fan of minimalism and always strive to declutter things that I don’t need in my home, social circle, and life. I am always cruel and harsh when protecting my time and getting rid of unwanted items, physically or digitally. Then I notice that my life has become more of subtraction as time goes by. I minus the…
