Real-Life Princesses Don’t need a Prince Charming
Women nowadays don’t want a Disney Movie with a Prince Charming telling her how much he loves her; they want to become their own hero. Is it wrong thinking that way?
As a child, you are raised thinking that the most important thing is to find a man, live in a beautiful house, and have children who will be the cutest thing that can happen to you. Does that have to be the only goal of a woman?
I’ve always been a fan of princess stories, their bravery, talking to animals, even singing when everything is going well or bad. But until recently, being rescued by a knight in shining armor I saw it as iconic.
In a world of fairy tales, perhaps, a mission to find the love of your life is an important thing; in fact, most of society still believes that. I’m not going to deny it, must be wonderful. But, that isn’t the only goal for every human being, especially for women.
Why women? We’ve always been considered the weakest gender; those who must put on an apron, serve the whiskey to her husband, and take care of the children, just a trophy wife. However, in the 21st century, some people shout undisguised words carelessly but with great intention, that is what every woman needs.
An example, in a family reunion always happens that your aunt, cousin, grandmother, or family friends will ask you “Hey, what about guys?”, and start telling you that should get one, you don’t want to be alone for the rest of your life!
BEWARE! I don’t judge those who consider “love” as the best thing that can happen to a person because maybe it is. But, the mission for which you came to this world is not only for that.
I’m just saying, like many others, that if no matter how cute the Disney stories are, someone solving your problems thanks to the love they have for you. And with that, they manage to live happily ever after, without having misunderstandings.
Why not be the heroine of your own story? fulfilling your goals and healing yourself from what hurt you, break down labels of society, and also love someone who doesn’t care that you’re a princess in shining armor; yes, a warrior.
Everything we propose we can accomplish if we want to, there is no need for someone to come and not to do things. You want to lead your own company — you do it or travel the world, you better go and do it because you certainly deserve it.
Any goal you may want to achieve in life shouldn’t be the one according to ancient traditions, it should be the one that makes your heartbeat like crazy and your eyes shine when talking about it. Be the princess in shining armor from your own fairy tale, under your goals and dreams.
