A meet-and-greet for Elipay testers
After its test launch in May 2018, Elipay — Eligma’s system for paying with cryptocurrencies at physical and online stores — is now ready for a three-month testing in daily consumer life. Part of our testers consists of randomly selected members of the Eligma community. The number of applications truly exceeded our expectations, and we would once again like to thank each and every one of you for applying!
On 7 June 2018, Eligma organized an exclusive event meant as a meet-and-greet and Elipay application launch for the future testers. The event started with a presentation by Eligma CEO Dejan Roljic, streamed live through Facebook and followed by Eligma and Elipay cocktails. Upon the launching of Elipay, every tester received ELI VIP tokens, which they used for buying drinks and trying out the transfer system to other Elipay users. There were 233 ELI VIP transactions performed altogether.
Elipay will be tested by 150 participants for a period of three months, starting on 11 June 2018. The cryptocurrencies implemented are currently bitcoin and bitcoin cash, but stay tuned for some additional surprises in this direction. Our ‘live testing lab’ will be BTC City; Eligma is playing a major role in turning this eminent Middle European shopping mall into crypto-friendly Bitcoin City, a physical business and shopping ecosystem based on the latest technologies and innovations. At the start of the testing, Elipay will be available at 24 stores and service providers, but many more will join by the time our testing is complete. Furthermore, Eligma now partners with Elektroncek and MAOP, two major Slovenian POS service providers covering a few thousand locations.
All these factors made our event a truly memorable one. Without our community, it would not be possible for our product to see the light of day with the quality that we envision.
