Community update: Eligma at major events in New York
Last week, New York City was the scene of two important events that were not to be missed by users, developers and networkers from the blockchain domain. Consequently, Eligma needed to be there as well. It was represented by CEO Dejan Roljic, General Counsel Luka Planinc and COO Ziga Toni. Here are some of the highlights!
Consensus 2018
This year, this famous event in the organization of CoinDesk, a well-known website dedicated to everything blockchain, took place from 14 to 16 May. It was visited by a record 8000 people in total, which made it one of the most important global events of its kind, attracting developers, legislators, innovators and investors. Luka Planinc, Eligma General Counsel, said: “This is a central event for exchanging information and experience, which is why Eligma simply had to attend with at least three representatives. I mostly talked to visitors and presenters from the legal profession, especially from the US, Canada and the UK, about their blockchain regulatory environment since the Eligma platform has aspirations to become a worldwide commerce player. Consensus was also fascinating because many other companies from Slovenia were there as well. We could use this opportunity to meet because we generally do not have much time to interact domestically.”
Token Summit 2018
Organized for a third time this year, Token Summit took place from 16 to 17 May, and focused on token economy. Ziga Toni, Eligma COO, reports: “This was obviously a smaller, but on the other hand a lot less commercial event. The speakers were very good, especially in the field of US legislative and personal identity security domain, which was extremely well represented. I myself focused on the networking with exchanges and potential Eligma partners, and were able to meet many attendees personally.”
Dejan Roljic sums up the eventful New York week: “It was a very intense, but highly inspiring visit. We were able to make a lot of new connections and were also happy to discover that Eligma is well-known in the blockchain scene, which shows that our efforts have paid off. We received a lot of positive comments and are looking forward to expanding our international presence and making the Eligma platform a unique and highly useful blockchain innovation.”
