Community update: Eligma returns to London and performs the first test of its Elipay transaction system in an offline store
It has been another exciting and busy week for Eligma. We had Jože Mermal, our co-founder, make the first payment with the Elipay system, we visited the Blockchain Expo Global event in London, and DJ Umek, one of the biggest stars of the electronic music scene, tried and loved the Elipay system.
London Blockchain Expo 2018
The Eligma Team, represented by Mitja Hegler, Senior Business Developer, and Sara Drašković, Head of Marketing and Communications, got the opportunity to attend a major event in London, the Blockchain Expo Global 2018, which took place on 18th and 19th April 2018 and hosted almost 20,000 people. It was an eventful two days full of networking, presentations and meetings with interesting people, representing companies that like Eligma and look towards blockchain to solve specific problems people are facing in the fields of manufacturing, retail, financial services, legal, healthcare, insurance, energy, music, government, real estate and more.
First tests of the Elipay cryptocurrency transaction system
We already told you of our first cryptocurrency payment with Elipay in an offline store, but we are happy to share the event video with you as well.
As expected, the test went very well. Even our co-founder Jože Mermal, who is familiar with Eligma’s development, was pleasantly surprised with the speed and simplicity of the process and we are certain that all our users in the future will feel the same way.
On Thursday, we welcomed one of the biggest electronic music stars DJ Umek to the Eligma family. As a great crypto believer, he expressed his interest in our platform and especially Elipay and we were happy to oblige. He visited the Tomas sport2 Sneakers footwear store in BTC City and bought a pair of sports shoes for his fiancée with Bitcoins.
He was thrilled with the experience and told us that he is excited to see future in the making.
