How to spend a day in a crypto-friendly city
Our goal is for Eligma to become a handy trading assistant that will simplify every online shopping aspect, be it for new or used products. One of the most important things for this to happen is to bring cryptocurrencies closer to the mainstream. We are hoping to achieve that with Elipay.
What is Elipay
It is a cryptocurrency transaction system that will enable the use of cryptocurrencies in physical stores. The shopping process will be almost identical as before. You will simply pull out your mobile phone at the register, scan the generated QR-code with the Elipay app and you will be done. These funds will then be exchanged on one of the crypto exchanges and transferred to the seller’s account in a fiat currency.
Establishing Bitcoin City
We have already completed first crypto transactions with Elipay and will carry out more extensive testing in the following weeks and months. Our testing grounds will be the BTC City area, one of the largest business, shopping, entertainment, recreation and cultural centres in Europe. It is rapidly recognizing and implementing innovative technologies and services, thus aiming to become the first Bitcoin City. After all the shops in BTC City enable Elipay, everything there will be payable with crypto or fiat currencies. Let us see how it will work when Elipay is fully functional in BTC City.
A fun cryptocurrency day in BTC City
Imagine you finally got a day off from work and decide to treat yourself. You wake up and decide you want to visit BTC City to do some shopping and spend the day at the swimming pool and spa, but you need a good breakfast first. You buy some Bitcoins and deposit them to your Elipay wallet. You are not sure if your favourite restaurant is open already, so you start the Elipay app, tap the restaurant and the app displays its opening hours. Seeing it is open, you jump into your car, drive to BTC City and enjoy your breakfast. When you are done, you tell the bartender you want to pay with Bitcoins, scan the corresponding QR-code and receive a five-euro cashback in ELI tokens!
Rested and full, you start your shopping. There are a lot of different stores in the centre and all you need is your phone. You buy two pairs of trousers, a tablet computer and a bag of dog food for your French bulldog Ozzie. Since all these stores are a part of the ELI universal loyalty programme, you are awarded tokens for every purchase. After you are done, you treat yourself to lunch and because you received ELI token rewards for buying in different stores, your food is basically on the house! Seeing you spent all your Bitcoins, you call your friend Lucy and ask her if she can transfer some more to you. Lucy agrees, and you receive new funds in seconds.
“Enough with the shopping already”, you say and head for the swimming pool. The problem is that you are not sure where it is. You select the waterpark in the Elipay app and tap the navigation option — problem solved. You pay the entry fee and see that you have collected enough ELI tokens for a free massage. Relaxed and happy, you stop for an evening drink, spend the rest of your ELI tokens and head home.
