If there’s one thing being truly immersed in the Internet wrestling community will teach you, it’s that complaining outweighs rational thought. You can be the biggest draw one day and be questioned why you’re still on television the next. The work you put in, the impassioned promos you cut, and the four-to-five-star matches you delivered may mean nothing when people feel you have overstayed your welcome. In the most recent episode of Monday Night RAW, Drew McIntyre defeated Kofi Kingston to earn yet another singles WWE Championship match with The Almighty titleholder Bobby Lashley. With that, a slow-burning discussion over the last month took full form.

The people are “tired” of Drew McIntyre. They “get it” that he’s a top talent in the company and don’t need the force-feeding to believe it. They want Kofi to get a fair shot at the WWE title since being squashed by Brock Lesnar in October 2019. The writers have yet to produce an alternate formidable challenge for Lashley, or any combination of these incessant complaints. That last one in particular plays into a popular narrative that WWE does not put effort into building new stars. Instead, critics feel the federation it opts to utilize older talent while new faces build up their rapport. Complaints about this come of as if a new star can only be created through world championship opportunities.
