Hurray! 💃🏻 🎉 We are super excited to announce our first monthly #updateSeries of Ellcrys, a recap series curated to keep investors and our ever-growing community alike in the loop of key activities keeping the team busy.
As a concept of common knowledge, Ellcrys is re-building the way we collaborate on ideas around the globe. Here are the top activities for the month.
Protocol Development
Our team of engineers have intensified effort in the research and development of the Ellcrys blockchain. Our immediate goal is to develop a minimum viable protocol which will be released as an Alpha version in the Q3 2018 as opposed to Q4 2018.
In the course of development, We will release a new white paper that will describe the architecture of the system. At Ellcrys, we are very interested in a hybrid (PoS/PoW) blockchain which will ensure network security and improve the speed at which the network reaches consensus. We plan to make our repositories open to the public soon.
Re-imagining our Brand
After our pre-sale, we decided to re-brand our company’s identity. We wanted to tell a story around our values and comprehensive product capabilities. Over the last few months, we worked together with professional design consultants who help us in curating a befitting branding that captures the interpersonal part of our product, built trust of our target audience and the blockchain ecosystem while giving a lively breath to our overall digital experience.
Launch of EllCast — Podcast series
In the early part of March 2018, our growth team deliberated about taking our community to the heart of the story behind Ellcrys. We came up with “EllCast” with its first episode titled, “Introduction To Ellcrys” joined by our co-founders; Kennedy Idialu and Odion Olumhense. In a knowledge-driven ecosystem like ours, it’s imperative for us to enlighten our users about valuable topics around our product in the most seamless of ways just to stimulate new ideas while creating a grandier vision of what ellcrys is about.
Product Design update
In the same month leading to our branding redesign, our product team began work on the Ellcrys’s website. We began to accrue feedback from our community who largely suggested a simplification of the platform to the most basic of use-cases. A design sprint was organized with different users across our target segments. Intense product design processes are currently ongoing (there’re still a lot of moving parts) in building Ellcrys into the product fit you will love and be proud of. Here’s a snapshot of what the landing page looks like.
Event with iOS MasterClass Series
In our bid to foster community engagement with developers across Africa, our product lead; Usman Abiola will be speaking at the iOS MasterClass about “Design sprints”. The event is organized by GetDev in collaboration with Hotelsng and Ellcrys.
March 2018 User Survey
As started earlier, we’ve been working on improving our overall digital experience. We want to better understand our users’ behaviors, needs and demographics. We plan to use this information to better attend to the pain-points and needs of our community and product line alike.
Please fill out this survey. It will just take a few minutes, we promise.
We hope that your feedback will help reveal the different user personas of our platform and who exactly we are building for.
