I am a boomer, but only technically. I can’t help it; I was born in 1958, but only recently have I turned into a real “OK boomer!” which is the real deal status to be achieved. That is reserved for a few who enjoy all the perks of being a true boomer, the knowers of the truth. And it doesn’t come easy; you have to suffer for it, there is nothing fun about it. You’ll become obsolete.

If you are not aware, in the United States “OK, Boomer!” is equivalent to when boomers called their parents squares.

You must let everything go; all your ambitions and dreams must die, and you will be eternally inadequate and stupid. You’ll finally become what you have always hated and thought to be the most uncool and undesirable state of being. OK, Boomer. You’ll turn into your father, the original OK Boomer.

There is a time before initiation when you are allowed to be a cool boomer, but you are not yet an “OK Boomer!” Your boomership is not yet complete. The cool boomer was allowed to mingle among the young undetected, and their jokes were still funny and accepted. “OK, Boomer!” full status ends all of that.

But you cannot stay in the cool boomership forever, as many believe it is achievable as long as they dress cool. To extend this temporary blissful moment and…
