TO HELL WITH COMFORT ZONES — YONAKA’S SUCCESS CAN’T WAIT ’TIL TOMORROW (2019)
From time to time we all need to press a reset button and begin anew. Since wine doesn’t always work its magic, we search for something more, a door to the other side of things. “Lose Our Heads”, from Yonaka’s upcoming album Don’t Wait ’Til Tomorrow, is the temptation to experience rebirth. Be warned though, it will require you to leave your comfort zone and go through hell.
First of all, Yonaka is taking the world by storm you guys! They have just signed with Elektra Music Group in the US and are currently on tour in Europe with two US June dates in New York and LA (head HERE for tickets). Kerrang magazine published a full length article about the band while Fueled By Ramen Facebook page has officially welcomed Yonaka to their family. On top of all that magic, the band’s first LP album is coming out on the very last day of THIS month! Just a regular Monday or is that a great freaking deal of success to celebrate?
In the light of all these victories, Yonaka’s new single seems to be a sneak peek into what it took for the band to get to where they are today. And the story many of us can all relate to goes: at some point in your life you realize your potential is bigger than where and what you are at that given time. Have we all gone blind, fallen under the times, cooked up at home, too comfortable to go outside? Never satisfied, too lazy to fight, slowly brainwashed, we’ve forgot how to live our lives. It takes all of your courage to make an irrevocable decision to cut off all that weighs you down, leave your comfort zone and bend the reality to your own liking. The world’s our design, seen only through our eyes, making mistakes our own way, don’t apologise!
The journey is not easy. The good old trial-and-error method proves effective, you learn a lot along the way, yet not without heartbreak and disappointment. No matter, you’re strong enough to withstand whatever is thrown at you, anything is better than apathy. You welcome all sorts of pain because you know that the reward is worth it. Teach my how to love, I’m asking you to break my heart in half, drag me straight to hell so I can know that heaven exists as well, let’s lose our heads! All this madness makes the blood in your veins flow faster, every fiber of your being tells you that you’re on the right track, no regrets! Forget where we’re from, leave this world behind, it’s time to be reborn. FREEDOM! Your life becomes a roller-coaster no-one else can ride and you finally feel alive!
The video for the single is a classic example of “less is more” as it depicts the band performing the song live. I mean, the background is plain for a reason. It serves the purpose of displaying the Yonaka’s performing skills that exceed expectations as well as how much passion the whole band has for what they do. Especially George, one of the guitarists, his energy is something else! Little boys will want to be like George when they grow up after watching this video. And Theresa… Theresa is stunning. She knows what she’s singing about, confidence brightening up her expressive face, the woman is both a force of nature and a girl you really want to hang out with.
Yonaka deserve every bit of success they have achieved so far and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for this crazy lot. We’re now only 10 days away from the release of their album.
