TO THE BIG MOON AND BACK ON A BIKE — WHY THE ESSEX COUNTRYSIDE WILL RESTORE YOUR LIGHT

The light of The Big Moon shines again! Yes, I’m aware the Moon only reflects the Sun’s light, I’m talking about the gleaming 4-piece band from London and their new single! “Your Light” is the second release from the upcoming album by Juliette Jackson and the crew, due to arrive in January. What we can already gather from this sneak peak single, Walking Like We Do is going to be a panoramic record both in terms of sound and the subject matter.

The girls confirmed they’ve been exploring their extremes and are now ready to reach beyond what a rock album normally has to offer. We’ve been promised sonic richness and depth with an existential approach to lyrics. For example, the piano-tinged slow-paced “It’s Easy Then”, the first single, tackles the problem of how much noise we have to cope with on a daily basis in our modern world. Get ready for serious conversations, my friends. Contemplation and musical intensity, underlined by Juliette’s beautiful alto, is what we can expect more of on the album.

“Your Light” is an upbeat follow-up song addressing similar global issues of our modern hectic lifestyles. This planet never needed gravity to drag you down, how true is this? While technological advancements have significantly improved our lives, we are now faced with many problems that have arisen for the first time in the history of mankind. It’s no joke, anxiety and panic attacks constitute one of the top concerns in our society and we’re still learning how to adjust our survival strategies to deal with them. But every generation probably thought they were the last, right?

So what is The Big Moon’s remedy for this throbbing headache? The Essex countryside! In the truly idyllic video for the single the girls took their bikes for a ride in the rural area providing the answer to our prayers. What could be more invigorating than connecting with Mother Nature? And the best part is that it does not cost you any money, you only need an hour or two in your schedule. Come on people, we can all set aside 60 minutes once a week! Grab your favorite person, the more the merrier, and go reconnect with your light. You’ll thank me and The Bog Moon later.

And days like this I forget my darkness and remember your light…

The world needs The Big Moon’s music because it needs a band aid, pun intended ;). The healing powers of the right message interwoven in sounds and words are priceless and we cannot wait for the new album, girls. We’re in love with “Your Light” and we know there is so much more where that came from.
