Chapter 49 — Amsterdam: The Film.
It’s here.
One year ago almost to the day, I was temporarily living at Jen’s new house, editing a film I didn’t care much for.
A year on, I’m temporarily living at Jen’s new-new house, and I’ve finished editing a film I care a hell of a lot for.
And so today is the day. My first film in over a year has been released.
Before I go any further, I want to just state that the fact I haven’t created some proper video content at all in the past 365+ days is an absolute travesty. I’m disgusted in myself.
I’d blame third year of university for limiting my time and energy but I chose to dedicate efforts to social media freelancing and the like, so that’s no excuse. In hindsight, I wish I’d spent the year making more films.
But I’m back in the filmmaking saddle, and this video has me excited. I seriously cannot get over how much fun I had filming and editing it. Maybe I just love having total creative control.
I’ll be honest, this film was made in a split-second decision as I got on the plane at Manchester Airport. No planning, no preparation, no script. Just a vision of making a film of a trip that was set to be fantastic.
And it was fantastic, and now myself and everyone on the trip have something to keep hold of and look back on for years to come. That’s pretty cool.
Only annoying part is that every time I watch it, I just get nostalgic and want to go back. Can’t win ‘em all I guess.
Anyway, without further ado, here it is. Enjoy.
