My eternal struggle

I don’t have many problems in life. It’s a fact I’m thankful for every day, and I count myself very lucky to be able to state it.
But there’s one thing which, for as long as I can remember, has frustrated the living hell out of me:
My ear lobes are too small for the conventional earphone.
Even worse, my ear lobes are too small for even the smallest earphones I’ve ever managed to discover.
I wear Apple Earpods most of the time now. But I wear them upside-down so that the wire loops over my ear and keeps the things in place.
I can wear over-ear earphones — like I’ve turned the Earpods in to — but they tend to hurt after a while.
Headphones fit, of course, but they’re annoying and bulky.
I prefer earphones.
Unfortunately, my ears never have done.
