Happy Wednesday, y’all. It’s the first week of December and we’ve got a lot of great things happening on Ello. We’re announcing selected artists from the Fabrik Heroes and Powerful Art for Social Change Invites, an interview with photographer Dan Bassini, a spotlight on the Design Community and fresh invites from our friends at Talenthouse. Ready?

Announcing the Artists Selected for the Fabrik Heroes 2019 Invite
We’re stoked for the three selected artists @milicagolubovic, @planetaks and @scott_balmer who have received Fabrik portfolio websites and will be interviewed and featured as permanent Fabrik Heroes. We’re also stoked for the fifty selected artists that have also received Fabrik portfolio websites.

We’re also pretty stoked for Ello artists @jadecervetti and @flxrothschild and Talenthouse artists Dam Tsoi and Maria Careeño who will be exhibited at a creative panel talk in Los Angeles this month and will have their work featured across Ello and Talenthouse’s social channels.

Truth Bombs
Submit your work to be featured in Truth Bombs, a revolutionary new book of stickers, to be published by Carpet Bombing Culture and distributed globally in 2019.

Create Vintage Inspired Limited Edition Designs for Johnnie Walker’s 200 Year Anniversary
In 2020 Johnnie Walker will be celebrating its 200-year anniversary. From the very beginning, Johnnie Walker has believed that progress is a journey best walked together. From the four corners of Scotland to the four corners of the world, it’s a brand with one name on the bottle, but thousands more behind it.

Johnnie Walker is looking for artists around the world to create box packaging for their 200-year anniversary Limited Edition range, taking inspiration from three key vintage advertising styles from the brand’s past.

Opportunity

A minimum of 2, and up to 4 designs will be selected and potentially be produced into a range of Limited Edition Johnnie Walker products and sold around the world. The Selected Artists will receive £4,000 for each design selected.

Create Artwork “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu” and Receive Up to $2,000 POKÉMON Detective Pikachu brings elements of the video game of the same name, as well as the internationally loved POKÉMON to the big screen.

Artists, designers, illustrators and animators from around the world are invited to create one-of-a-kind static or animated artwork for POKÉMON Detective Pikachu inspired by the latest imagery and teaser trailer from the film.

Opportunity

Artwork will potentially be featured across the film’s marketing campaign, including social accounts, print materials and merchandise. Five (5) pieces of art will be selected by Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary and the Selected Artists will receive $2,000 for each piece selected.

Create Artwork Inspired by The Movie “Glass” & Receive Up to $2,000
M. Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of two of his standout originals — 2000’s Unbreakable, and 2016’s Split — in one explosive, all-new comic-book thriller: Glass.

Artists, designers and illustrators from around the world are invited to create one-of-a-kind static artwork for Glass inspired by the latest imagery, trailers, film series, and the film’s themes.

Whether it’s an illustration, a digital painting or even an alternative poster design, the judges are looking for captivating and imaginative artwork.

Opportunity

Artwork will potentially be featured across the film’s marketing campaign, including social accounts, print materials and merchandise. Five (5) pieces of art will be selected by Universal Pictures. The Selected Artists will receive $2,000 for each piece selected. An additional five (5) pieces will be selected as Finalists and receive $400 each.

Catch up with Photographer Dan Bassini
Film photographer, Dan Bassini (@danbassini) has been places-lots of places. You may recognize him as the creator and photographer behind “No Invite”, the series “focused on capturing the spirit of Fashion Week by whatever means necessary.” With the recent release of its fourth volume, No Invite has grown into something much bigger and we’re sitting down with Bassini to discuss its evolution and future.
