About Aaron Bevan-Bailey (Play Attention)
Play Attention is the brainchild and alter ego of artist Aaron Bevan-Bailey. His twisted imagination and love of Sci-fi comics from 2000 AD, Mobious and Jordorowski gave birth to the Play Attention style. It began with doodles to entertain himself between paintings. Freestyle illustrations like automatic writing used to conjure inspiration out of the subconscious ether. Those drawings became a signature style and started amassing a sizable following.
With newfound awareness there can be a tendency to become very serious and introspective. Aaron created Play Attention to remind people to embrace the playful creativity and childlike wonder in their mindfulness.
Play Attention was born as an antidote to endless scrolling. Aaron says “I was looking at my screen time one day and realised that if I devoted those hours daily to drawing instead, I would become infinitely better at what I do. The world is constantly battling for your most valuable commodity. Whether it be advertising, social media, Streaming services etc. Our ethos is, if you choose to give us your precious attention we will make it worth your while and hopefully you will be inspired to create something of your own. Our main goal is to make inspiring art and products that enrich people’s lives, without destroying the planet. All products where possible will be manufactured with and packaged in renewable /sustainable materials. The only thing that should outlast me are my ideas.”

Missed Connections
This piece is a representation of our digital bubbles. The cyborg character’s double face was a nod to our online persona being a layer of artifice and a very different version from who we really are. “Missed connections” was a place in the back of the paper where you could post ads looking for love and try to contact people you may have met in passing. I believe our screen time is robbing us of intimacy and true moments of connection replacing it with momentary hits of dopamine. With Play Attention I want to remind people to seek out analogue experiences. I really love working in physical media and getting my hands dirty. It feels very human.
Whoever Dies with the Most Stuff Wins
This piece was inspired by our age of mindless consumerism and me looking at my own consumption. I’ve been doing a “No-buy” this year where I only buy essentials and occasionally art. It has given me such a sense of peace. Media keeps you teetering on the edge of confusion so you are easier to sell to by creating a fear of lack. I like to create pieces that remind me that an emotional and spiritual hole inside cannot be filled with stuff. It can only be filled by looking inward and creative expression. I’m also a massive fan of the trash compactor scene in Star Wars, something about that image always stuck in my mind as a kid.
Play Attention at its core is about reworking, recycling and reinventing. Printing on vintage clothing gives garments new life that would otherwise go to landfill. The future is vintage.
Play Attention x Elmon X — Generator
This is my first venture into the world of NFTs. I wanted to create something that encapsulates our two approaches. I am very much a traditional media guy. I love the tactile nature of working on paper, sculpting etc. It’s fascinating to me that I am creating something physically that will become a completely digital asset. I like the NFT space for the way it satisfies your collecting instinct without you having to accumulate physical objects. I think the idea of ownership is going to change completely in the future. The name came from the ideas that were coming out of our collaboration and the large following I have been amassing. I wanted to create a representation of a “Generator” powered by pure imagination that inspires others to embrace their own creativity.

Random Rarity — How it Works
This unique approach redefines the traditional drop, infusing an element of anticipation and chance that keeps collectors on the edge of their seats.
The concept is simple, yet exhilarating. Each digital collectible is assigned to a particular rarity level. There are four artpieces, each with their own limited edition count:

Upon purchasing a digital collectible from the collection, collectors won’t know which rarity level they’ve acquired until the moment of revelation!
Rarities will be revealed after every 50 mints have been purchased*. For example, after the 50th purchase, the first 50 collectibles will be revealed. The second reveal will occur after the 100th purchase. Refresh the metadata to see the updated changes. Any remaining editions will reveal once the sale has closed at 9AM PT June 9th.

Generator T-Shirt Animation
The Generator t-shirt will feature a QR via a tag on the bottom left of the t-shirt that activates the Generator art in augmented reality on the t-shirt. Simply scan the QR code on the t-shirt to open Snapchat, then point the camera at the back of the t-shirt to see Generator come to life.
Note that this is only for the color t-shirt, not the B&W t-shirt.
Generator Animated Switch
A switch will be added whereby collectors who own Generator can opt between two editions (original and animated)
