Introducing ELO
Hello! We are ELO, short for Eloquence. We are a team of like-minded people with the goal to improve your language proficiency, in any language, by providing the right tools. We experienced ourselves that current methods of language learning can be time consuming and inefficient, especially when it comes to second language acquisition. We believe that we can create a more personalized, immersive and efficient learning experience and this is why we started ELO! We focus on intermediate language learners to reach their personal and specific language goals.
Each economy becomes increasingly international and the need for foreign languages continues to grow. Language learning has become an area in which the explosion of mobile apps and interactive software has provided opportunities to a range of people who were previously unable to access foreign language education. The focus of the majority of these software providers, however, has been on learning a language from scratch. Little has been done for intermediate language learners that would like to get better at a foreign language or even reach near-native command. ELO is here to help them! More concretely:
It is ELO’s vision to help intermediate language learners reach near-native command in any foreign language in order to communicate eloquently, express their full personality and for example get the job of their dreams.

We help you improve your language proficiency based on content that you are already engaged in. This could be for personal language goals (e.g. private) or professional language goals (e.g. work/study). A common example would be that you are in the need of learning specific job-related terminology or you would simply like to read and understand more about topics that you’re interested in. For an intermediate language learner to improve his or her language proficiency, it is important to have a personalized approach for two main reasons:
- The current proficiency (baseline) is unique to the individual.
- The desired proficiency (goal) is unique to the individual.
A unique goal requires a unique approach, therefore, ELO is here to help you improve your language proficiency based on content that matters to you. Unlike our competitors, ELO is not based on pre-selected content.
Immersive
With ELO, language learning is integrated into your daily routines, whether you’re at home or commuting, reading the newspapers online or watching a video on one of your various devices. There is no need any more to use external language learning tools as the ELO service runs in parallel with your content provider. In addition, you can use ELO on all your favourite devices and wherever you are.
Efficient
By integrating language learning into the daily life and filtering the content important to users, we can keep both the feeling of having learned something relevant and the willingness to learn high. In this way we create an efficient and motivating learning experience. Additionally, we make language learning efficient by using the latest scientifically proven teaching methods for optimal understanding and memorization.
