September EL Hackathon brings new ideas to life
Every two months or so, we organize a company hackathon to work on our ideas. This month I decided to join hands with our developers and work on my first hackathon project.
I’ve made a list of all apps made. Most of them are in early development stage, but some you can try now. I hope you’ll find them useful!
Inboxy
Inboxy is a Google Apps Script that allows you to synchronize your Gmail attachments to Google Drive.
You can select a group of files you want to sync — photos, videos, audio, documents or archives. A couple of minutes after you run the script, you’ll find the files in your private Inboxy folder on Drive.
Inboxy fetches ALL selected attachments in your Gmail inbox + future ones.
To try the app and sync your attachments go to http://bit.ly/inboxyapp.
Tip: If you go to your Google+ profile’s Settings and enable Show Drive photos and videos in your photo library, you will be able to access this album in the Photos app on Android as well.
EL Mustache
The idea was to create an application designed for iOS 8, that takes advantages of it’s new features. EL Mustache is an example of iOS 8′s Photo Editing Extension, completely written in Swift. The app uses new Photos framework, introduced with iOS 8 to provide smart ways for photos modification.
We already wrote about this app! Read more about EL Mustache here.
Constellation Tumblr theme
Our two designers Michal and Konrad made this great responsive Tumblr template. If will be available for download in a couple of weeks.
Flatmate
Flatmate is a web app for flatmates. You can organize things with your friends concerning rent, bills, shopping lists, cleaning etc. Never again will you have to wonder whose turn it is to buy toilet paper or when to pay the internet bill!
Very alpha version — not all features implemented. Launching soon.
EL Feedback
EL Feedback is a web app for sending responsive customer satisfaction surveys. The customer answers the first question straight from the email (“smiley scale”). After answering a question from the email you see a landing page with additional questions (multiple choice “smiley scale” + open question).
All answers are saved in real-time. Even if someone doesn’t complete the survey, you still have results from answered questions.
Inspotle
Inspotle is a web and mobile application for active people who like to do fun things with other kewl people.
It allows you to do four things:
- Add your favorite spots where you can do some sort of activity like playing basketball, tennis, golf, frisbee, etc.
- Find kewl spots around you
- Create events in your spot of choice allowing people to join you
- Join events created by other users
If there is something fun going nearby (related to being physically active), we don’t want you to miss out on it. Coming soon to an app store near you!
That’s all! We’ll try to improve these apps and probably work on new ideas on the next company event.
What’s your favorite EL hackathon project?
