The Elrond blockchain is ready to launch. We are submitting it for one last public round of testing to showcase its capabilities ahead of minting the Genesis Block. Battle of Nodes: Onchained will demonstrate Elrond’s readiness to fulfil the internet’s need for a layer of trust operating at unprecedented performance. This will set the stage for launching our mainnet as a catalyst for adoption, precisely when market sentiment, consumer attention and enterprise appetite are bursting with interest.

  • Starts Thursday June 4th @ 12:00 UTC
  • $40.000 prize pool
  • 15 days resilience goal for mainnet

The final Battle of Nodes event before the mainnet launch starts on Thursday June 4th 12 UTC. Node operators will be rewarded for running validators, doing missions, finding bugs and exploiting vulnerabilities. The prize pool is $40.000, composed of flat ERD payments and mainnet stakes.

Participants will learn how to operate the latest version of Elrond nodes, use the relevant tools and challenge the security of the system. The event will feature several intended network restarts & hard forks and 2 special events to demonstrate performance. Once the network runs 15 days without interruptions despite heavy load and stress testing, we are ready to go live.

Be awesome, follow these easy steps to be part of the Elrond history:

Schedule:

  • Phase 1: 04 June — 08 June — setting up the network, dry run, new nodes can still join
  • Phase 2: 08 June & onwards — performance & functionality testing, mainnet readiness countdown, performance scoring, missions

We share your excitement about bringing years of hardwork to the point where we can call our product ready. Join Battle of Nodes Onchained as Validator or spectator and let everyone know that blockchain performance is no longer an obstacle for the next internet.

See you on the battle #fiedl

FAQ:

Q: Who can participate in Battle of Nodes: Onchained?
A: The event is open to anyone. Rewards however will only be distributed to those who pass KYC.

Q: Do I need ERD tokens to participate in this event?
A: No. We are testing the technology, with no link whatsoever to tradeable ERD tokens.

Q: What do I need to run a node?
A: A computer with 2xCPU, 4GB RAM, 100GB SSD, 100Mbit/s internet, Linux (Ubuntu 18.04 preferred), basic Linux knowledge.

Q: How do I earn rewards?
A: First, you need to pass Tier 2 KYC with our partner. Your node(s) needs to score as high as possible on the Leaderboard. You gain score by keeping your node online & performing within specs, doing missions and finding bugs.

Q: What are the rewards?
A: A $40.000 prize pool will be split between participants at the end of the event. $20k rewards will be distributed as ERD tokens, at an ERD/USD ratio equal to the 3-day average value prior to the day of the distribution. Additionally, Elrond will delegate $ERD to the top players for running mainnet nodes, netting them an estimated $20k USD in staking rewards over the course of 1 year, considering the price of $ERD today.

Q: Why “Onchained”?
A: We believe the real utility of blockchain technology will come via meaningful integrations which leverage the native “on-chain” capabilities in a mix of on-chain and off-chain complementary systems. Elrond’s scalability will be the tipping force enabling a new set of more advanced on-chain architectures.
