“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, but today is the gift. That is why it is called the present.”

So, dropping out is history now. It may seem hard but always remember that everything happens for a reason. Things that seem tough now will, one day, lead you to the doors to your dreams. So, it is important to focus on the positive side of the coin. Pull up your socks and work it out.

Here are a few things that might help.

1. Take a deep breath and relax: First and foremost, take a small break from all the thoughts jammed up in your head. Take a deep breath and believe that all is well. Getting worked up and tensed about the unknown is natural but calming yourself down is the most important. Give yourself a few days and do whatever you love doing the most.

2. Organize your thoughts: It is particularly important to organize your thoughts and write them down. The ideas that are running through the mind may be the door to a new life. So, it is very necessary to write them down.

3. Keep learning: Never close the doors to learning. There is no limit and no boundaries to learning in any field or subject. It is quite easy to fall into the stagnant phases where one loses the interest to grow, try to avoid avoid such circumstances as much as possible. Keep an open mind towards all the learning experiences life throws at you.

4. Keep taking risks: Dropping out and pursuing your dreams is a big risk on its own but don’t be scared to take more calculative risks to experiment and do things out of the box.

5. Do not ditch responsibility and be humble: Dropping out doesn’t mean that you don’t have any other responsibilities to take up. Do not neglect responsibilities as they are going to shape up your personality. Being humble is very important when you want work from bottom up to achieve your dreams. So don’t lose your personality but keep trying to enhance it.

A drop year can be the best decision of your life, only if you realize the clarity of thought it has brought to you. Hence, instead of considering it as a liability in your profile, organize up a bit and get ready to take on life again.
